Mr. G. H. Comstock made a business trip to Waukegan last Wednesday.

Miss Zoa Nimsky returned to Valparaiso last Monday after a few weeks’ vacation at home.

Miss Effie Runyan attended the Teachers Institute at Waukegan this week.

Prof. Easton is spending his week’s vacation at home at Waukegan.

Mrs. C. Nacher who has been ill-health is now slowly improving.

Miss Gromer and sister visited at F. H. Landwer’s over Sunday.

DIED Wednesday, March 22, 1893, Mrs. Hager, wife of Robert Hager, at her home about five miles west of Barrington, after a few weeks’ illness.  The interment took place at Algonquin.

E. Lamey has just furnished two cars Joliet stone for Mr. Zimmerman, who will remodel his barn on the property opposite Mr. H. Gieke’s into a dwelling this spring.

Mr. Charles Fletcher of Sharon, Wis. Is plastering the house of J. Palmer this week.

Mr. H. Boehmer of Wheeling made a short call here last Tuesday.

Mrs. Richmond of Palatine visited with her sister, Mrs. Heise, a few days this week.

Presiding Elder Geisler of Chicago will conduct the quarterly meeting at the Baptist
Church tomorrow (Sunday) afternoon.   Services commence at 2 o’clock.

Mr. T. H. Schutt has opened a boot and shoe store in the Lamey Building this week.

DIED-Saturday morning, March 25.  Charles Alfred, infant son of Ernest Rieke.  The funeral occurred last Tuesday, the Rev. W. Schuster officiating.  The remains were taken to White’s Cemetery for burial.

Miss Lydia Robertson visited relatives at Geneva Lake a few days this week.

Dr. D. A. Smith of Mayfair made a short visit here last week.

Daniel Catlow of Gallion, Iowa, moved his goods to this place last week.

William Selleck of Chicago spent last Sunday here.

Miss Tillie Thies visited friends here last Sunday.

Evening services at the Baptist Church now commence at 7:30.

Mr. Redmond visited friends here a few days last week.

The concert at the Baptist Church last Friday evening was much enjoyed by those present.

There will be an extra and very interesting Easter service at the Baptist Church next Sunday evening.  Songs and recitations will be rendered by the children.  The choir will be led by their old leader, H. Wheadon, of Chicago.  All are invited.

Mrs. Shipman visited with her mother in the city last Monday.

Mrs. C. H. Smith returned to her home at Elgin last Thursday.

Miss Dena Bauman has received a large assortment of spring millinery.

A.W. Meyer & Co. are displaying some beautiful patterns in carpets this season at prices  very low.

Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Naeher visited with her parents last Sunday.

Lamey; for Assessor, George Heimerdinger; for Collector, F. A. Cady; for Road Commissioner, George Hager, P. Callahan (by petition); for Justice of the Peace, Henry Kampert, Jr.; Jan Bennett; for Constable, George Prouty, John C. Meier.

The following is the ticket to be voted at next Tuesday’s election for the Town of Barrington. There appears to be no opposition:  For Supervisor, E. R. Clark; for Town Clerk, Leroy Powers; for Assessor, J. W. Kingsley; for Collector, F. L. Waterman; for Road Commissioner, Fred Horvath; for Justices of the Peace, J. W. Kingsley, F. H. Frye; for Constables, H. M. Hawley, C. F. Meyer; for School Trustee, W. N. Miller.

Farm property took a boom last week, the following transfers were made:  R. Lageschulte to U. Fricke, fifty acres; consideration, $3,750.  Fred Sandman to H. Lageschulte, ninety-six acres, consideration, $6,000.  Jesse Miller to Fred Sandman, about 180 acres, consideration, $8,000.

Notice is hereby given that the annual town election will be held at the office of L. H. Bute on the first Tuesday, April 4 next, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., to elect the following officers, to wit: one Town Clerk, one Assessor, one Collector, one Road Commissioner, two Justices of the Peace, two Constables.
